A (larger than stock) downpipe will decrease the backpressure and drop the exhaust gas temperature considerably, thus allowing the turbocharger to work more freely and efficiently. This way, your turbo will not only build boost earlier, but it will also boost about 2 - 2.5 psi higher than it does at the moment. Roughly, this may give you between 12 - 14 horsepower on top of what you have now.
However, this means the boost spikes at certain loads will be higher as well. It also means you will be running leaner (with a leaner Air Fuel Ratio ) and thus with relatively higher risk of detonation than before. A software upgrade is necessary to adjust to this new set up
Zavisno o veličini turbo punjača. Kod malih turbina se u pravilu backpressure javlja između glave motora i turbine, znači u ispušnoj grani, kolektoru i samom turbinskom kućištu, a ne u ispušnom sustavu nakon turba (barem ne niti približno tako velik). Odnosno, sama turbina je "usko grlo". Čak i da ti boost poraste za 0,15 bara, ECU se relativno lako nosi sa time i korigira smjesu. Po meni ECU remap samo zbog DP-a nije nužan.
